According to news released on the WeChat official account of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense on Monday (May 6), after mutual agreement, the Chinese and Cambodian militaries will hold the "Golden Dragon-2024" joint exercise in Cambodia in mid-to-late May. The exercise topic is "Joint Counter-terrorism operations and humanitarian relief.”
This is the sixth time that the Chinese and Cambodian militaries have held a series of "Golden Dragon" joint exercises. The Chinese Ministry of National Defense said that the joint exercises will help further consolidate the iron-clad friendship between the two countries, improve the level of strategic coordination between the two militaries, and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
The Chinese and Cambodian militaries have held several "Golden Dragon" series of joint trainings since 2016. The fifth joint exercise held in April last year was the largest exercise held by the Chinese and Cambodian militaries. There were more than 3,000 troops from both sides participating in the exercise, and more than 1,000 pieces (sets) of various types of equipment were used.
