Daily gas production from China's largest coalbed methane field exceeds 7 million cubic meters
The reporter learned from the Huabei Oilfield Shanxi Coalbed Methane Branch that as the largest coalbed methane field in China, the Shanxi Qinshui Coalbed Methane Field of the North China Oilfield, the daily gas production at the wellhead exceeded 7 million cubic meters on the 26th, setting a record high.
The Qinshui CBM field is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, covering an area of more than 3,000 square kilometers, and has an estimated CBM resource volume of 600 billion cubic meters. In 2006, Huabei Oilfield obtained the coalbed methane mineral rights in the Qinshui Basin in Shanxi, and subsequently built the country's first coalbed methane field with an annual surface extraction capacity of more than 2 billion cubic meters.
Coalbed methane, also known as coal mine gas, is an unconventional natural gas resource. The development of coalbed methane is of great significance for promoting coal mine safety, expanding natural gas supply, and reducing environmental pollution.
The relevant person in charge of the Shanxi Coalbed Methane Branch of Huabei Oilfield said that in recent years, Huabei Oilfield has relied on the rich coalbed methane resources in the Qinshui Basin, based on high-level science and technology to become independent and self-reliant, and has continuously carried out technological innovation and research to create a high-rank coalbed methane diversion and development method. The daily output of single wells in newly built horizontal wells has been greatly increased, the proportion of high-yield wells has reached more than 48%, and the production capacity rate has reached more than 95%, continuing to maintain the momentum of increasing reserves and production.
It is reported that in the second half of 2023, the second pipeline from the Qinshui coalbed methane field in North China Oilfield to the national backbone pipeline network was successfully connected, which can increase the pipeline export capacity by 1.5 billion cubic meters per year, forming a new "dual-channel" export pipeline for coalbed methane. pattern. At this point, the export capacity of the Shanxi coalbed methane pipeline in the Huabei Oilfield has reached 3.5 billion cubic meters per year, adding new guarantees for winter supply in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and other regions.
