China’s longest direct civil aviation route completes maiden flight
China's longest direct international passenger route (from Shenzhen to Mexico City) completed its maiden flight.
According to Xinhua News Agency, on the evening of May 11, 2024, local time, the first Shenzhen-Mexico City direct flight operated by China Southern Airlines Group Co., Ltd. landed at Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City.
It is understood that this route has two flights per week and is operated by Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft. It has a total length of 14,147 kilometers and a flight time of more than 16.5 hours, which greatly shortens the travel time of Chinese passengers to Mexico.
This route has set a new record for the longest direct international passenger route by Chinese civil aviation and is currently the only direct civil aviation route from China to Latin America. The previous record holder was China Southern Airlines' Guangzhou-New York route, with a distance of 12,871 kilometers and a flight time of about 15.5 hours.
