On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, CATL held its "Super Tech Day" product launch in Beijing, officially releasing the third-generation "Shenxing" lithium iron phosphate (LFP) supercharging battery.

This technology achieves a supercharging capability equivalent to 10C, with a peak of 15C, allowing an electric vehicle to charge from 10% to 98% in just six minutes, making the charging speed closer to refueling a gas-powered car.

CATL also mentioned other advancements, including a nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery that can achieve a range of up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge, and a more ambitious condensed-state battery capable of providing up to 1,500 kilometers of range for sedans. The increase in single-charge driving range helps to alleviate so-called "range anxiety," thereby promoting the adoption of electric vehicles, especially in regions with insufficient charging infrastructure.
