According to the official measurement of the China Earthquake Networks Center: At 7:38 am Beijing time on August 22, 2024, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred in Kuche City, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang (40.92 degrees north latitude, 83.97 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 15 kilometers.

After the earthquake, the earthquake advance team of the Aksu Prefecture Fire Rescue Detachment and the Kuqa City Fire Rescue Brigade has dispatched 4 vehicles and 20 people to the earthquake-stricken area to investigate the disaster. The earthquake rescue advance teams of the other county and city fire rescue stations, with 16 vehicles and 80 people, have assembled in the camp and are on standby.

So far, no reports of casualties or property losses have been received through reports from earthquake early warning officers, verification by township liaison officers, and information feedback from earthquake departments.
