The market value of the smuggled goods involved is approximately HK$100 million.

On April 17, 2024, Hong Kong Customs announced that on April 4, a case of smuggling goods using an ocean-going ship was detected at Kwai Chung Container Terminal. The smuggling destination of the ship was Malaysia. A large amount of smuggled electronic parts, electronic products and electronic waste were seized in the case, with an estimated market value of approximately HK$100 million.

Customs officers arrested a 53-year-old woman involved in the case on April 5. Currently, the case is still under investigation and more arrests cannot be ruled out.
