Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, on Thursday (June 13, 2024), embarking on an eight-day trip to New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Li Qiang left Beijing on a chartered flight on the afternoon of the 12th and arrived at Wellington International Airport on the morning of the 13th to start his official visit to New Zealand. New Zealand Health Minister Reti and Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong were waiting at the airport to greet him.

Li Qiang said that he looks forward to having in-depth exchanges of views with New Zealand leaders and people from all walks of life on China-New Zealand relations and issues of common concern, promoting the continued deepening of exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, and building an upgraded version of the China-New Zealand comprehensive strategic partnership.
