US to sell $300 million worth of F-16 fighter jet parts to Taiwan
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) issued a press release on Wednesday (June 5, 2024) Eastern Time, saying that the U.S. State Department has approved two arms sales, and DSCA will notify the U.S. Congress on the same day.
It is reported that the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States requested to purchase standard spare and repair parts, components, consumables and accessories for F-16 fighter jets, as well as engineering, technology, logistics and other related services provided by the U.S. government and contractors, with an estimated cost of approximately US$220 million. The representative office also requested to purchase non-standard spare and repair parts, components, consumables and accessories for F-16 fighter jets, as well as engineering, technology, logistics and other related services provided by the U.S. government and contractors, with an estimated cost of approximately US$80 million.
