China has deployed advanced J-20 fighter jets along the disputed border with India, according to the latest satellite images.

Newsweek reported on Tuesday (June 4, 2024) that the US geospatial intelligence company All Source Analysis said last Thursday (May 30) that "analysis of satellite images collected from China's Shigatse Air Force Base shows that six J-20 fighters may be deployed near the Indian border."

Newsweek's analysis of open source satellite images provided by geospatial data provider Sentinel Hub on Sunday (June 2) showed that J-20 fighters are still deployed at the Shigatse Air Force Base.

After the bloody conflict between China and India in the Kalwan Valley in the western section of the border in June 2020, relations between the two countries have remained tense. The Indian Express reported on May 11 that there are still 50,000 to 60,000 troops deployed near the Line of Actual Control on the China-India border.
