Train hits people in Harbin

A freight train hit railway construction workers in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, killing six people.

According to mainland Chinese media reports, at 13:55 on Tuesday (June 4, 2024), freight train No. 42109 was running on the Tangyuan-Wangjiang downlink section of the Suijia Line and collided with construction workers who had intruded into the downlink line. The accident caused two deaths and four injuries. The four injured died after rescue efforts failed. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
