As of 15:30 on June 29, 2024, statistics show that the floods and geological disasters that began on the 22nd have affected 1.014 million people in Jiangxi Province, 105,500 hectares of crops, and direct economic losses of 950 million yuan. It is understood that since June 9, Jiangxi has experienced a concentrated period of precipitation, which is the third highest in the same period since 1961. The Jiangxi Provincial Hydrological Monitoring Center upgraded and issued an orange flood warning at 14:00 on June 29: Affected by heavy rainfall, it is expected that in the next three days or so, Poyang Lake, China's largest freshwater lake, may experience a flood exceeding the warning level of about 2.3 meters; the Yongxiu County section of the main stream of the Xiu River may experience a flood exceeding the warning level of about 2.5 meters.
