Mountain flood hits Ya'an, Sichuan

A flash flood disaster occurred in Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, China on Saturday (July 20, 2024), and more than 30 people are currently missing.

According to the news from China Central Television (CCTV) client, a flash flood disaster occurred in Xinhua Village, Malie Township, Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province at around 2:30 on Saturday due to heavy rain, and local communications, roads and bridges were interrupted. After preliminary investigation, more than 30 people have been lost and more than 40 houses have been damaged.

According to public information, Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, borders Liangshan, Ganzi, Leshan and Meishan, and is the traffic throat leading to Kangzang.
