They are currently not in danger of life.

According to the New Zealand police and local rescue agencies, the accident occurred at about 8 a.m. local time on Highway 8 in the central part of New Zealand's South Island. After the accident, the highway was immediately closed and the two seriously injured were sent to the hospital.
