Floods hit 51 rivers in China
The Ministry of Water Resources of China announced on July 24, 2024 that as of this morning, 51 rivers in Ningxia, Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Yunnan and other places have been flooded due to upstream water and rainfall.
Among them, 9 rivers, including Gansu Lihe River, Yongning River, Baishui River, Rangshui River, Shaanxi Qianhe River, Sichuan Baimo River, Yuxi River, Puyang River, Mingshan River, etc., exceeded the guaranteed water level, and 3 rivers, including the upstream river source area of Ningxia Jinghe River, Shaanxi Qianhe River, and Gansu Yongning River, exceeded the historical measured record.
At the same time, Hongze Lake reached the highest water level this year.
