A fire broke out in an electric bicycle shop in Suqian, Jiangsu

A fire broke out in a shop selling electric bicycles in Suqian city, Jiangsu province, China, killing six people.

According to the official report of the Suqian Fire Rescue Brigade of Jiangsu Province, a fire broke out in a shop in the Junwangfu Community of Suyu District at around 10 pm on Friday (August 23, 2024). The fire department immediately dispatched rescue after receiving the alarm, and the open fire was subsequently controlled. The fire area was about 200 square meters. The fire caused four deaths and two injuries at the scene. The injured later died after rescue efforts failed. The investigation of the cause of the fire and subsequent disposal work are in progress.
