Red eyed mantis found in Yunnan, China
In people's general impression, mantises are usually emerald green. However, recently in Yaofang Village, Liming Township, Ning'er County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, China, a villager accidentally found a red mantis in his yard. This strange elf is bright red all over, with spots all over its body. Its "petite" body quietly "lurks" on the red petals, and it is really difficult to detect if you don't observe carefully.
According to insect experts, this mantis belongs to the genus Oculopsus, a species of the subfamily Mantodeinae in the family Mantidae of the order Mantodea.
