During the 62-day 2024 summer railway travel season, China's national railways carried a total of 887 million passengers, setting a record high for the same period in history.

According to China Railway Corporation, from July 1 to August 31, the national railways transported a total of 887 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%, with an average daily passenger volume of 14.312 million, setting a new record for summer passenger volume. From August 10 to 12, the daily passenger volume exceeded 16 million for three consecutive days.

According to reports, this summer, the railway student flow, tourist flow, and family visit flow are superimposed, and the passenger demand is strong, and the passenger flow remains high. The railway department's transportation capacity has been enhanced to better meet the travel needs of passengers. The national railway arranges an average of 10,905 passenger trains per day, an increase of 636 trains year-on-year, an increase of 6.2%.
