On September 25, staff at Yichang Three Gorges International Airport responded, "On the evening of September 24, due to public safety reasons, flights entered an abnormal state from around 9 p.m. that night. Some flights that were not fully guaranteed were cancelled, and some flights were delayed or diverted. By midnight that night, everything had returned to normal."

Staff at the Three Gorges Airport Branch of the Yichang Public Security Bureau said the news was true and that they had handled the situation on the spot. "We coordinated police forces to go there, and there was indeed a drone flying last night," but did not disclose the specific on-site handling situation.
