Huawei releases patent for new solid-state battery
According to information from the State Intellectual Property Office of China, Huawei's patent titled "Doped sulfide materials, preparation methods, and lithium-ion batteries" was applied for in May 2023 and focuses on solid-state lithium-ion battery technology.
According to the patent abstract, the technology involves the doping of sulfides, which can greatly increase the service life of lithium-ion batteries. This new solid-state lithium-ion battery has the characteristics of high energy density, high safety, long cycle life and stability, which can meet the growing demand for battery performance in the future electric vehicles, energy storage and other fields.
It is understood that solid-state batteries can be divided into polymer, oxide and sulfide systems according to the type of electrolyte. Among them, sulfide solid-state batteries are regarded as disruptive technologies by the industry due to their high energy density, fast charging and discharging, excellent low-temperature performance, high safety and long life.
