Chinese enterprise convoy suffered terrorist attack in Pakistan

A convoy of a Chinese company was attacked by terrorists near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan, killing two Chinese personnel.

The official website of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan issued a statement saying that at about 11 pm local time on Sunday (October 6, 2024), a convoy of the Chinese-funded enterprise Port Qasim Power Generation Co., Ltd. was attacked by terrorists near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. So far, two Chinese personnel have been killed, one Chinese personnel has been injured, and many Pakistani personnel have been injured.

The statement emphasized that the Chinese embassy and consulate in Pakistan has initiated emergency work at the first time, requiring Pakistan to make every effort to treat the wounded, conduct a thorough investigation of the attack, severely punish the murderer, and at the same time make every effort to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in Pakistan.
