Fatal car accident occurred on the campus of South China University of Technology

According to a report from the Panyu Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, at 9:40 PM on September 27, 2025, a car struck two pedestrians between the D4 teacher dormitory and the C3 student dormitory at the University Town campus of South China University of Technology. One pedestrian died despite medical treatment.

The accident reportedly resulted in the death of a female student surnamed Lu, a 2025 electrical engineering student at South China University of Technology, and the injury of a dance student. The driver was a teacher surnamed Jin from the School of Arts at South China University of Technology. The case is currently under further investigation.
