Geng Baochang, Renowned Chinese Expert on Ancient Ceramics, Passes Away at 103

On November 10, 2025, the Palace Museum announced the passing of Mr. Geng Baochang, a preeminent Chinese expert on ancient ceramics. He served as Vice Chairman of the National Committee for the Identification of Cultural Relics, Honorary President of the Chinese Society for Ancient Ceramics, Senior Researcher at the Palace Museum, Senior Member of the Palace Museum Academic Committee, and Honorary Director of the Ancient Ceramics Institute at the Palace Museum Academy. Mr. Geng died at 6:50 AM on November 10, 2025, in Beijing, at the age of 103.

His farewell ceremony will be held at Dong Hall of Babaoshan Funeral Parlor in Beijing at 9:00 AM on November 16, 2025.
