On February 4, 2026, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) announced the "Major Archaeological Discoveries of 2025 in China." Six significant sites were selected, spanning a broad historical timeline: the Xinmiao Village Paleolithic Site in Yangyuan County, Hebei Province; the Peiligang Neolithic Site in Xinzheng City, Henan Province; the Zhengjiagou Hongshan Culture Site in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province; the Hustai Bronze Age Site in Wenquan County, Xinjiang; the Langyatai Site from the Warring States, Qin, and Han Dynasties in Qingdao City, Shandong Province; and the Badamu Tombs from the Eastern Jin to Tang Dynasties in Turpan City, Xinjiang.
