Terminal 3 Officially Opens at Sanya Phoenix International Airport

On the morning of February 6, 2026, Terminal 3 (T3) of Sanya Phoenix International Airport officially commenced operations. The new terminal is equipped with 40 check-in counters, 23 security screening lanes, and seven fixed-end boarding bridges. It is connected to Terminals 1 and 2 via an elevated walkway, enabling integrated and coordinated operations across the three terminals.

It is reported that the design of T3 incorporates numerous eco-friendly and energy-saving features. These include the use of photovoltaic glass for power generation, a sponge city system, and high-efficiency electrical systems. Collectively, these technologies contribute to an overall energy saving exceeding 20%. With the opening of Terminal 3, the airport's annual passenger throughput is projected to reach 30 million.
