China to Grant Visa-Free Entry to Canadian, British Passport Holders Starting February 17
According to a notice on the website of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, starting Tuesday (February 17, 2026), China will implement a visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom.
The notice states that to further facilitate the exchange of personnel between China and other countries, the Chinese government has decided to implement this policy. Canadian and British citizens holding ordinary passports are permitted to enter China without a visa for purposes such as business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchanges and visits, and transit, provided their stay does not exceed 30 days. The visa-free policy will be effective until December 31, 2026.
