A man in Changchun, Jilin Province, attacked a police officer with a knife and seized his gun
A 45-year-old man caused a disturbance with a knife in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China on Monday (September 2, 2024). He fought with the police on the scene and snatched their guns. As a result, one policeman was killed and two policemen were seriously injured.
The Chaoyang Branch of Changchun Public Security Bureau reported on Tuesday (September 3) that the 45-year-old suspect Li was shot dead on the spot. The case is currently under further investigation.
According to the report, at about 1 pm on Monday, the Chaoyang Branch of Changchun Public Security Bureau received a report that a man was arguing with a knife in the property office of Zhongdonghong Street in the jurisdiction.
The police officers arrived at the scene and found that the suspect Li was threatening the people at the scene with a knife. The police fought with him while protecting the people at the scene to evacuate safely. During the fight, a policeman was seriously injured by the suspect's knife, and his gun was taken away, and another policeman was injured.
After the reinforcement police arrived, the suspect opened fire and resisted stubbornly, causing a policeman to be injured. Subsequently, the suspect Li was shot dead on the spot. The case caused a policeman to be seriously injured. After all efforts to rescue him failed, he died on duty. Two policemen were injured. After being sent to the hospital for treatment, they were not in danger of life, and there were no casualties among the people.
