According to the official measurement of the China Earthquake Networks Center, at 20:08 on September 18, 2024, a magnitude 4.7 earthquake occurred in Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province (31.98 degrees north latitude, 117.6 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 12 kilometers. According to preliminary information, the earthquake was felt significantly in Hefei and was felt throughout the province. No casualties have been reported so far.

After the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration launched an earthquake emergency service response. The Anhui Provincial Earthquake Administration launched a level 1 earthquake emergency service response, quickly dispatched earthquake emergency response work with the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Anhui Provincial Emergency Management Department, and held an emergency consultation meeting with the China Earthquake Networks Center. The Anhui Provincial Earthquake Administration, the Anhui Provincial Emergency Management Department and the Hefei Municipal Earthquake Administration have sent field teams to the epicenter to carry out work.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, the earthquake was felt in a large area and the surrounding population was dense. Among them, Hefei and Nanjing felt the earthquake significantly, and there were also local earthquake feedbacks in Wuhu, Yangzhou and Hangzhou.
