A man injured a Japanese elementary school student with a knife in Shenzhen
The Nanshan Branch of the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau of Guangdong Province, China issued a police report on Wednesday afternoon (September 18, 2024) stating that at around 8 a.m. that day, a knife attack on a passerby occurred in Zhaoshang Street, Nanshan District, resulting in injuries to a minor named Shen. The suspect has been arrested and is a 44-year-old man named Zhong.
According to Bloomberg, Japan's Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroshi Moriya said at a press conference on Wednesday that an elementary school student attending a Japanese school in Shenzhen was attacked on the way to school that morning. The elementary school student has been sent to the hospital for treatment and his current condition is unknown. This is also the first time in three months that a Japanese in China has been attacked.
