In response to the attack on a Chinese tourist in Osaka, the Chinese Consulate General in Osaka has called on Japan to severely punish the attacker and prevent similar incidents from recurring.

According to the official website of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, a Chinese tourist was injured in a robbery and strangled incident on a street in Nishinari Ward, Osaka Prefecture, at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday (July 30, 2025). The attacker has been arrested. The Chinese Consulate General in Osaka immediately contacted the injured compatriot to express condolences and demanded that Japan severely punish the attacker and take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.

In response to the recent frequent attacks on Chinese citizens, the Chinese Embassy in Japan has lodged a solemn representation with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, demanding that Japan effectively protect the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Japan.
