Allium inutile found again in Anhui, China
Recently, a biodiversity team from Chuzhou University discovered a unique Allium species near Langya Temple during a survey of plant diversity and forest and grassland resources in Langya Mountain. Research confirmed it to be the mysterious Allium inutile, a plant that had been missing for over 20 years.
Since its first record in 1999 by Wang Xihua and others from East China Normal University in Langya Mountain, this plant has not been collected or observed again, becoming a long-overlooked "mystery plant" in the botanical community.
