Jiang Duntao, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Chongqing Municipal Government and Deputy Mayor, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of discipline and law and is currently under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

According to public information, Jiang Duntao was born in May 1969 in Qingdao, Shandong Province. He holds a doctorate in management and a background in the Communist Youth League. Jiang Duntao's political career began in Shandong, where he served as mayor and then district party secretary of Laoshan District, Qingdao. In August 2019, he became secretary of the CPC Zibo Municipal Committee, and in July 2022, he became secretary of the CPC Weifang Municipal Committee. In December 2022, he concurrently served as chairman of the Standing Committee of the Weifang Municipal People's Congress.

On January 17, 2023, Jiang Duntao was serving as deputy mayor of Chongqing across provincial borders until his current investigation.
