President of Central Academy of Drama Hao Rong Voluntarily Surrenders and is Under Investigation

According to a notice on December 19, 2025, from the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Ministry of Education under the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, as well as the Henan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, Hao Rong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Central Academy of Drama, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and the law. He voluntarily surrendered and is currently undergoing disciplinary review by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Ministry of Education and supervisory investigation by the Supervision Commission of Xuchang City, Henan Province.

According to publicly available information, Hao Rong has long been engaged in performance teaching and research at the Central Academy of Drama, cultivating numerous outstanding talents in theater, film, and television. He has previously served as the Director of the Performance Department and Vice President of the Central Academy of Drama, and assumed the role of President of the Central Academy of Drama in 2019. He also holds important positions such as in the China Theatre Association and participates in discussions and formulation of national art policies.
