According to the Guangzhou Daily, with the commencement of operations at Terminal 3 (T3) of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Terminal 1 (T1) is scheduled to close for renovation starting January 22, 2026. Airlines currently operating from T1 will be relocated to Terminals 2 (T2) and 3 (T3) in batches.

It is understood that effective from 00:00 on January 15, 2026, flights operated by 9 Air Co., Ltd., Loong Air, and Chengdu Airlines departing from or arriving at Guangzhou will be transferred to operate from Terminal 2 of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Check-in for these airlines will be arranged in Zone F. The remaining domestic airlines and all foreign carriers currently operating from T1 are expected to move their operations to Terminal 3 starting from 00:00 on January 22.
