A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Mojiang Hani Autonomous County in Pu'er City, southwest China's Yunnan Province, at 7:43 p.m. Beijing Time on July 21, 2026, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) .

Earthquake Parameters

The epicenter was located at 23.19 degrees north latitude and 101.46 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of 6 kilometers . The epicenter is approximately 36 kilometers from Mojiang's county seat and about 65 kilometers from downtown Pu'er . Yunnan's earthquake early warning system issued an alert 11 seconds after the quake occurred .
