A mentally ill patient in Hubei stabbed others with a knife, killing eight and injuring one

A patient with a mental disorder stabbed others in Xiaochang County, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, China, resulting in eight deaths and one injury.

According to CCTV News, a case of stabbing someone with a mental disorder occurred in Xiaowu Township, Xiaochang County, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province on Thursday (May 23, 2024), resulting in eight deaths and one injury. The injured person's vital signs were stable. At present, the suspect has been controlled by the public security organs.

According to reports, the 53-year-old criminal suspect Lu Moumou was initially screened as a third-level mental disorder patient and is awaiting judicial appraisal. The village where the incident occurred is Qiaowan Village, Xiaowu Township, Xiaochang County. Several villagers in Qiaowan Village said that the suspect suffered from mental illness. This wounding incident resulted in the death and injury of many people, including the suspect's mother. A villager said that the above-mentioned suspect had been acting "a little abnormal" in the past two days.
