Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban visited China on Monday (July 8, 2024) and will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on its official website on Monday that Viktor Orban will visit China on the 8th and Xi Jinping will meet with him to have in-depth communication on issues of common concern.

According to Reuters, Orban's press director Bertalan Havasi told Hungarian media that Orban arrived in Beijing, China on Monday and would hold talks with Xi Jinping. Havasi also said that Orban's peace mission continues. This is the third surprise visit by Orban since Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the European Union in July. Orban visited Ukraine and Russia last week.
