The Jiahu Ruins, located in Jiahu Village, Wuyang County, Henan Province, are a large and rich site from the Early Neolithic period. Recently, archaeologists discovered wooden coffins within several tombs, indicating that the coffin system, a crucial component of ancient Chinese rituals, had its roots over 8,000 years ago.

It is understood that the site also unearthed China's earliest musical instrument: a bone flute.
