Husband of Yunnan Influencer with Millions of Followers Detained for Suspected Drunk Driving Hit-and-Run

According to media reports, the husband of Xiao Ying, a Yunnan-based social media influencer with millions of followers, has been criminally detained on suspicion of causing a traffic accident.

Netizens posted videos on Saturday (November 15, 2025) alleging that Xiao Ying's husband drove a Mercedes-Benz that collided with residents from the same county. One victim suffered a comminuted leg fracture requiring surgery, while another sustained severe injuries, remains unconscious, and is in the ICU. After the incident, the Mercedes-Benz driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping to handle the matter.

Additionally, according to the Xundian County Public Security Bureau in Kunming, a road traffic accident occurred in Xundian County in the early hours of Wednesday (November 12, 2025). The investigation revealed that a 31-year-old man surnamed Wang, driving a black sedan after consuming alcohol, collided with an electric bicycle traveling normally. Wang then abandoned the vehicle and fled. The accident injured two people on the electric bicycle, one seriously. Currently, both injured individuals are receiving treatment in the hospital. The man surnamed Wang has been criminally detained by the Public Security Bureau on suspicion of causing a traffic accident, and the case is under further investigation. Reports state the man's full name is Wang Shifu.

It is understood that the Douyin (TikTok) account "Xiao Ying's Family" ("小英一家") currently has over 4 million followers. It primarily documents family life, including farm work, childcare, and feeding cattle. The account reportedly generated total product sales exceeding 10 million RMB in one year. Xiao Ying married Wang Shifu in 2014.
