Former Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yongxin Approved for Arrest

According to CCTV News, former abbot of the Songshan Shaolin Temple, Shi Yongxin, is suspected of embezzlement and other crimes. The case, designated by the Henan Provincial Public Security Department to the Xinxiang City police for investigation, was submitted by Xinxiang Public Security Bureau to the Xinxiang People’s Procuratorate for approval of arrest. Recently, the Xinxiang People’s Procuratorate has lawfully approved the arrest of Shi Yongxin on suspicion of duty encroachment, embezzlement, and bribery by non-state personnel.
