Tibet's Lhalu Wetland Certified as 'World's Highest Urban Natural Wetland' by WRCA

On December 20, 2025, a certification ceremony was held at the Lhalu Wetland National Nature Reserve, where the "World's Highest Urban Natural Wetland" world record was officially certified by the World Record Certification Agency (WRCA). Situated in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, the Lhalu Wetland National Nature Reserve boasts an average elevation of 3,645 meters and spans an area of 12.2 square kilometers. It is widely recognized as "the lungs of Lhasa."
