A magnitude-4.8 earthquake struck Hutubi County in the Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 5:44 a.m. Beijing Time on March 7, 2026, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The epicenter was located at 43.67°N, 86.41°E, with a focal depth of 18 kilometers.
