Recently, a restaurant in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province hired minors Pan and Wang to work in the kitchen, violating the relevant provisions of the "Provisions on the Prohibition of Child Labor" and the "Measures of Zhejiang Province for the Implementation of the Provisions on the Prohibition of Child Labor". Investigated and dealt with by the Yiwu Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau in accordance with the law.

After investigation, 15-year-old Pan and 13-year-old Wang came to a restaurant in Niansanli Street to apply for jobs through a recruitment website. The two parties claimed to be over 16 years old. The person in charge of recruitment of the restaurant arranged for them to work there without careful verification. I started working in the kitchen on March 6, mainly doing simple tasks such as washing dishes. On the 10th of that month, Pan and Wang felt that they were not qualified for the job, so they resigned after settling their wages with the owner of the restaurant. The fact that the unit involved was illegally using child labor was clear and the evidence was conclusive. The Yiwu Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau ordered the unit to return the child labor to its guardians within a time limit and impose penalties in accordance with relevant regulations.

It is understood that commercial establishments such as restaurants, barber shops, and cake shops, as well as factory workshops, have become prone to illegal use of child labor because their work is relatively simple, easy to learn, and training costs are low. Especially during the summer vacation, many young people under the age of 16 have the idea of going out to do odd jobs to make money. In previous cases, it was more common to be introduced by acquaintances. If you are not careful, you may have hired child labor.

Regarding the illegal use of child labor, which is a "high-voltage line", the Yiwu Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau has always maintained a serious and punitive attitude. It will investigate and deal with every discovery and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of minors.

The Yiwu Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau reminds employers that when recruiting employees, they must carefully check the ID cards of the recruited personnel and complete detailed employment registration and filing. Minors under the age of 16 are not allowed to be hired.
