Today, China's Ministry of Water Resources reported on flood and drought prevention: From June 1, 2024, China will enter the flood season, and the southern region will enter the main flood season.
It is predicted that this year's meteorological conditions will be poor, and some rivers may experience large floods. The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, the Huaihe River and the Yihe River, the Shuhe River, the southern Zhangwei River and Ziya River in the Haihe River Basin, the Songhua River, the Liaohe River, and the Taihu Lake are all likely to experience large floods.
In terms of drought, it is expected that the central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northwestern Hebei, northern Shanxi, northern Shaanxi, Ningxia, northern Xinjiang, southern Guangdong, southern Guangxi, Hainan, and central and southern Yunnan may experience periodic droughts during the main flood season.
